Adrian is an agent for the Kern-Yancy merchant house. In short, he's one of the men sent to establish good relations in prospective markets, since it's always a good idea for a merchant to be on good terms with the powers that be. His travels take him to any number of places which has furthered his own network of contacts. When something's needed, Adrian's a man who can usually get it.

His features are of the typical anubian cast, slender and delicate. Proper narrative law would have Adrian be the descendant of a powerful lord and maybe something with misunderstood but well meaning vampires. In actuality (and he'll tell anyone that cares to ask) Adrian is the son of a naval mechant from the Olde World. Profits were slim trading along the coast however. Some westerners hold Views about Anubian traders and their customs are strange. Rather than follow his father's foot steps, Adrian adopted a more easily pronounced name and learned the manners of his rivals. With a sharp eye and quick wit Adrian set out to carve himself a corner of the market in shipping. Talent is one thing but an iron will can go far indeed.

Adrian was educated in Falschung university, a scholarship boy, the premier university for people with more money than nobility. Graduates know what all the little forks are for, what all the philosophers said, and which people's grandfather transgressed other people's grandfathers. It's a school useful to those of noble lineage for second and third sons expected to prepare themselves in case the heir succumbs to a case of terminal coup. Adrian's admittance was based on merit as he studied every bit of information he could find on the scholarship tests. His primary study was in the field of business in order to make his dream come true. Like plenty of young men, Adrian had a bit of a wild youth in school which involved more trouble than sleep but somehow ended in a graduation. If this were a proper narrative he would have been valedictorian but instead he simply took his diploma and hit the job market.

Rumor has it that Adrian really can get you anything, for a price. Those in the know with smugglers may have heard of the trader getting things to market that normally shouldn't be there. More commonly his goods seem to pass customs without paying quite as much as the next man in tariffs. The paperwork always seems to add up at the end of the day and several times various authorities have audited Adrian's business dealings and found him innocent of any wrongdoing. Savvy types know he doesn't dabble in anything terribly dangerous, the wheels just always seem a little more greased when Adrian t'Mors is about.

It's been said, mostly through hearsay and "my neighbor's cousin says", that Adrian lies about his heritage. There's a dark little rumor that he has some vampire bat mixed into his ancestry and indulges that nature in secret. Unsubstantiated claims range from missing vagrants to an aversion to daylight. Adrian counters these by pointing out it's the nature of vagrants to move about just as it's the nature of diurnal species to enjoy evening parties. Several of these rumors trace back to rival merchant houses, with enough investigation.

One of the stories revolving around Adrian's youth is that he used to frequent some of the seedier places around his home. He would not be the first young man to feel an allure to danger and women with negotiable affection but the story goes, for those that care to press, that he mingled with business deals no upstanding citizen would be caught handling. Primarily smuggling occurs around the docks of Adrian's home so it's assumed that was where he first learned to apply the practice. It's said he's not a man to cross if there's a blade handy.
